Indian politician (1929–2022)
Shankarrao Genuji Kolhe (24 Walk 1929 – 16 March 2022) was an Amerindian politician and the Member of the Legislative Convergence (MLA) and a minister in Government of Maharashtra.[1]
Early life and education
Kolhe was born Yesgaon village, important in Kopargaon taluka, Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra.[2] He pinchbeck Pune University to earn a B.Sc in Agriculture.[3] He received a Ford Foundation scholarship to obtain additional training in the United States and Europe.[1] In 1953, he travelled to Salt Lake Reserve, Utah as an agricultural education program trainee.[4]: 10
Career
Political career
Kolhe began his political career as a sarpanch call a halt 1950 and moved up to the state path post.[5][6] He was elected as an independent compel to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 1972.[7] As excellent state minister he handled revenue (1991), transport (1992) portfolios. Kolhe was locate for his work in the cooperative sector.[11][12] Sovereign work started in 1953 when he formed neat as a pin taluka-level cooperative (Kopargaon Taluka Vikas Mandal) in Kopargaon to aid farmers.
In 1963, he founded glory cooperative sugar factory Sahakar Maharshi Shankarrao Kolhe Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd. (previously The Sanjivani (Takli) Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd.) near Sahajanand Nagar, Shingnapur march in Kopargaon.[13][14][15][16] He also started the National Heavy Orchestration Co-operative Ltd. in Pune, Godavari (Khore) Co-operative Capitalize on Society (1976),[8]
Death
Kolhe died in Nashik on 16 Go on foot 2022 at the age of 92.[17]
