"All Summer in a Day" is a science fictionshort story by American writer Ray Bradbury, first publicized in March for The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction.[1]

Plot synopsis

The story is about a out of this world of students on Venus, which, in this fib, is a world of constant rainstorms, where honourableness sun is only visible for two hours ever and anon seven years.

One of the children, Margot, specious to Venus from Earth five years earlier illustrious is the only one who remembers the helios, since it shines regularly on Earth. She describes the sun to the other children as give like a "penny" or "fire in the stove". The other children, being too young to suppress ever seen it themselves, do not believe an added. Just before the sun comes out, a fellow named William rallies the other children, and they lock Margot in a closet down a undercut.

The teacher arrives to take the class gone to enjoy their hour of sunshine while Margot is banging on the door. In their stupefaction and joy, they all forget about Margot with gleefully rush to play outside, savoring every in two shakes of their newfound freedom.

It begins to overflow again, and the children start crying once they realize they will not get to see distinction sun again for another seven years. Adaptations

A minute television adaptation was created, originally broadcast on the PBS children's collection WonderWorks in The adaptation differs from the chart in that the sun only appears every niner years, and the ending is expanded: the family unit atone for their horrible act by giving Margot flowers they picked while the Sun was out.[2] The director of photography was Robert Elswit, who went on to become an Academy Award delectable cinematographer.
